Acute baby malnutrition in the northern gauze doubles in a month, says UNICEF | Israel-Palestine News of Conflict

The UN agency warns that the malnutrition crisis is deteriorating in Gaza, with a dramatic increase in diseased children under two and under the age of five.
One of three children under two years of age in the northern gauze lane suffers from acute malnutrition, warned the United Nations Children’s Agency, such as Israel Total blockage Help enters its third week.
In a statement on Saturday, UNICEF said that the rapidly widespread malnutrition of children in Gaza reaches “devastating and unprecedented levels” because of the deep effects of the Israeli war and the permanent curbs to provide assistance in the territory.
The agency announced that acute malnutrition had doubled in a month, which hit 31 percent of children under two in February, compared to 15.6 percent in January. Among children under the age of five, acute malnutrition increased from 13 to 25 percent, she added, citing food projections performed by UNICEF and his partners.
“The speed at which this catastrophic crisis of a child’s malnutrition in Gaza took place is shocking, especially when desperately needed help was ready just a few kilometers away,” said Catherine Russell, UNICEF CEO.
She added that despite repeated attempts to provide assistance, the situation for children in Gaza “gets worse than every day.”
“Our efforts to help save life interfere with unnecessary limitations, and they cost their children their lives,” Russell said.
Israeli blockade help stimulates a pronouncing
Israel stopped the entry Of all the supplies of help in Gaza on March 2, hours after the first phase of fragile truck with the Palestinian group Hamas expired, raising the fear of “deepening hunger” and more difficulties for the population of the territory. Israel also reduced electricity to the key desalinization plant, a threatening supply of drinking water in Gaza.
Organizations for rights have accused Israel of crimes against humanity and violations of international laws of reducing Gazi. Palestinian health officials say that nearly 50,000 Palestinians were confirmed by the Israeli enclave war, with thousands of more disappeared under the ruins and assumed dead, and 70 percent of the buildings and roads gauze damaged after 15 months of Israeli bombing.
“At least 23 children in the northern Gazi comic book has reportedly died of malnutrition and dehydration in recent weeks, adding an increasing number of children killed in a lane in this current conflict,” UNICEF said.
He added that 4.5 percent of children in health centers and shelters suffered from severe spending – the most deadly malnutrition form, “which brings children to the highest risk of medical complications and deaths.”
Checking in the southern city of Khan Younis revealed that 28 percent of children under two were acutely malnourished and 10 percent suffering from severe wear.
“Even in Rafah, the southern enclave with the most access to help, the results of the examination of children under two years doubled with 5 percent acutely malnourished in January at about 10 percent by the end of February,” the UN agency said.
“Acute malnutrition among children continued to grow rapidly and in extent, and there is a high risk that it will continue to increase through the gauze belt, costing more life, in the absence of more humanitarian aid and renewal of basic services.”
UNICEF Russell said while “doing everything” to prevent a great humanitarian crisis, that was not enough.
“The immediate humanitarian truce continues to give the only opportunity to save the lives of children and end their suffering.”
