Tottenham manager Hotspur Ange Postecoglou defended his previous insistence to “always win things” in his second year at the club.
In August, one week before the first game of his second season of the Premier League in Spurs, Postecoglou insisted: “I usually win things in my second season. It’s the whole idea. The first year means establishing a principle and making a foundation. I hope the second year goes to win.”
Postecoglou recalled his pre -season comments a month later, right after a Northern London derby defeat by Arsenal. “I usually don’t conquer things,” he opposed. “I always conquer things in my second year.”
