Uppilling for AI Age is for each generation: Singaporean Minister


Singapore believes that Uptiling must happen for “every generation”, not just young people.

Speaking in CNBC Converge liveSingapore’s Digital Development Minister Josephine Teo told CNBC Arjun Kharpal that, while Singapore has training before employment in schools and universities, the country is also focused on continuing education for those who are in workforce.

“If we think what they left the school will last them all working life, I don’t think it’s realistic,” she said. “In their 40, 50 years, years of active in the workforce, they may have to turn three, four, five, six times, maybe even more.”

She explained that Singapore would support workers over 40 who wanted additional qualifications.

“We mean not only a younger generation. We mean every generation,” Teo said.

The city state has a program called “”Skills of an IFURETH CAREER FOR SHOWN“Which gives up to $ 3,000 in Singapore ($ 2,250) a month to take their free time to take on acceptable full -time courses.

“So if you take two years for this program, it is 72,000 SG to resolve, re-dismiss yourself and be ready for the future. So we look.”

This scheme will also be available to workers who want to attend part -time courses since the beginning of 2026.
