Former Pakistan Rashid LatiF captain made shocking claims about fixing matches in the 1990s after ICC champion Trophy 2025. The former shock stroke said he was writing a book that would expose the fixation during that time, stating that it would reveal how it would happen and who was involved.
Former versatile Mohammad Hafeez recently criticized the Pakistani stars of the 1990s crislette, calling them insufficient fuse who left a small legacy. Rashid Latifa played for Pakistan from 1992 to 2003, and also led the team in several games. Latif was located in 37 tests and 166 Zada and has a century test for his name.

Rashid Latif stated that fixing was at its peak during that time and promised to discover how it happened and who was involved in his upcoming book.
“I started writing a book. Fixing the matches was at the height of the 90s. I will discover the all-repair and who was involved. I will discover what was happening in the 90s crice, and I will also find out which former captain has submitted a presidential request for pardon,” said Rashid Latif (quoted by sports).
Several Pakistani crickets were investigating justice by Malik Muhammad Qayyum for charges of establishing matches in the 1990s. Wasima Akram was forbidden to reinstall Pakistan and was punished, but he avoided a serious punishment for lack of evidence.
It took 17 years for Pakistan to win another World Cup – Rashid Latif
The 56-year-old stated that the involvement of Pakistan’s stars in the team management interfered with progress, adding that it took Pakistan 17 years to win another World Cup. Latif said these former players should step down to allow the current generation to strive for success.
“It’s been 17 years for Pakistan to win another World Cup, because the players from the 90s have not released. Keep players from the 90s away from management and team, and then the current players will try to win. They must be tired of serving Pakistan. Let them take them a step back for a while,” Latif said.
In 1992, Pakistan won his first and only game of the World Cup under Captain Imran Khan. Men in Green approached the 1996 and 1999 editions, but they passed. They lost in Australia in the 2019 World Cup final.
Pakistani ICC fights continue in 2025. The champion trophy
Pakistan came out in the group stage of the 2025 ICC champion trophy. After early eliminations at the OD 2023 World Cup and the World 2024 World Cup, the expectations were high for their home tournament. However, they suffered severe defeats in New Zealand and India, ending the last in Group A.
Since his 1992 World Cup triumph, Pakistan has won only two ICC titles – World 2009 World Cup and 2017 Cup Trophy. Their test team ended the last at WTC 2023-25 and failed to qualify for the WTC finals in all three editions. They also endured the loss of the 0-2 series from Bangladesh.
