Pope Francis is still resting in the hospital as the Vatican Holy Year is going on without it


Pope Francis He stayed in the hospital on Saturday, recovering from a double pneumonia while the Holy Year of the Vatican continued without him.

“The night is quiet, the pope is resting,” the Vatican said on Saturday morning.

It’s been three weeks since Francis, 88, received to Rome Hospital February 14 after a one -week flank bronchitis worsened. The doctors first diagnosed the complex infection of the viral, bacterial and fungal respiratory tract and then the occurrence of pneumonia in both lungs.

Francis spent 20 minutes at the Gemelli Hospital Chapel on Friday, praying and working some work between vacations and respiratory and physical therapy, Vatican said.

The Pope used high -kicks of extra oxygen to help him breathe during the day and at night the non -invasive mechanical ventilation mask.

Earlier this week, Francis, who has a chronic lung disease and had a part of one lung when he was younger, suffered acute respiratory failure and subjected to bronchoscopy to suck mucus from the lungs.
