Gary Stead complains of an exhausting trip schedule in New Zealand while India enjoys luxury
New Zealand coach Gary Stead admitted that the team faced the challenges of a permanent trip ahead of the 2025 ICC Champion Championship Champion. Stead revealed that traveling from Lahore in Dubai took a toll on players, but his team would not be worried about changing the place.

Gary Stead said Blackcaps did not require extensive training before the finals. He said the focus is now on recovery, planning and mental preparation, not in intensive practice.
“There is no doubt that arrival here after Lahore – we had a whole day of the trip yesterday – he gets out of you a little. But we have a few days, some recovery and some planning and training towards the game,” Gary Stead told Espncricinfo.
“But I suppose we are now deep in the tournament, and sometimes there is not always a lot of training. Only your body and your mind is the right to compete in the finals. It will be our key focus in the next two days,” he added.

Gary Stead said they had experience to deal with India in Dubai during the conflict in the group. He admitted that his team did not perform at its best, but the experience could be useful in the finals. Stead also rejected the discussions about India who played all his matches in Dubai.
“We are fortunate that we had him against them here. It was a good match without I care about the best legs forward. Wherever you play, you just have to go upstairs and be able to be better than them that day, and that’s our focus,” Stead said in the same interaction.
“There are not decisions that come across my desk. It is something we cannot control for us, so it’s really just just going with it. Yes, India has played its four matches here.”
