Trump’s new White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, said in an interview published Monday that there would be no tolerance for “drama” or self-centered infighting under her watch.
Wiles, who will be the first woman ever to hold the powerful role, told Axios that she would not welcome swagger into the White House, which was plagued by leaks during the first term of President-elect Donald Trump.
“I don’t welcome people who want to go solo or be a star,” Wiles told Axios in the email. “My team and I will not tolerate gossip, inappropriate deliberation or drama. It is counterproductive to the mission.”
“At my core, I believe in teamwork,” she added. “Anyone who cannot be counted on to cooperate and be focused on our common goals does not work in the West Wing.”

She added that while Trump’s first term had great achievements, she hoped his second term would not be plagued by “sand in the gears” like “impeachment attempts and other witch hunts.”
“We moved quickly to work in Congress, hiring the best people, preliminary talks with heads of state, fine-tuning his political agenda and planning for the first 100 days,” she told Axios.
The agenda, she says, includes “eliminating redundant and burdensome regulations, keeping taxes low, reducing government waste through DOGE [the new Department of Government Efficiency]and most importantly, closing the border and deporting criminals who are in this country illegally.”
Wiles praised Biden’s chief of staff, Jeff Zients, for his work on the transition, calling him “very professional.”

Wiles’ boss, however, had less kind words for President Biden in an interview with Hugh Hewitt on Monday.
“They talk about transition, they always say they want a smooth transition from party to party, government,” he said. “Well, they’re really making it difficult. They’re throwing everything they can in the way, they’re giving trillions of dollars in nonsense, in Green New Deal bullshit, it’s worth nothing.”
Wiles was given the powerful role of chief of staff by Trump after serving as co-manager of his victorious 2024 campaign, widely seen as the most disciplined of his three presidential bids.
Trump and campaign co-chairman Chris LaCavita saluted Wiles on election night for her work on a successful run that saw Trump become only the second president in history to win back-to-back terms.

True to her desire to stay out of the limelight, she refused Trump’s offer to talk to fans during his victory speech.
