Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Akhtar participate in a huge battle on TV live TV
Former team player Pakistan National Crickket Mohammad Hafeez made a bold statement after a bad release Mohammed Rizwan under the leadership and ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He aimed at the 1990s players saying they had not left any legacy behind.
Mohammad Hafeez comments followed during the Tapmad discussion in Pakistan. The former team player spoke about why the cricket in the country lowered as sitting on the board, which included Shoaib Akhtar and Shoaib Malik.
The Pakistan National Cricket team had the worst possible trip to the 2025 ICC champion trophy. The side under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan is facing a group stage and was the first team to eliminate, failed to win one game and finally finished his group in the table of points.
The Pakistan National Cricket team began a tournament with a loss against the new Zealand national team for crickets, and then was at the end of the breakthrough against the Indian National Cricket team. Their last league match was washed over the rain because they became the first host nation to win a single match at the ICC tournament.
I am a big fan of players from the 90s, but when it comes to heritage, they left nothing – Mohammad Hafeez
Mohammad Hafeez spoke about the importance of winning the ICC tournament, saying that it creates inspiration among fans and a younger generation. While calling himself big fans of the 1990s players, he made a bold statement, saying that they had not won any ICC events even though these were big names in the crisis. He said:
“The ICC event is creating inspiration among fans, among the younger generation. I am a big fan of players from the 90s. But when it comes to heritage, they left nothing for Pakistan. They didn’t even win the ICC event in 1996, 1999 and 2003, they lost badly. We could win the finals, but we lost in the finals.
“As a star, as a player, they were a mega superstar. But they couldn’t inspire us with a victory in the ICC event. Then those things changed a bit. We faced some difficulties. We won in 2009, we lost in 2007.
In the 90’s players couldn’t win the ICC event – Mohammad Hafeez
Mohammad Hafeez further added that winning the T20 2009 World Cup and ICC trophy for 2017 inspired the next generation and influenced the crisner Pakistan. He added:
“Alhamdulillah, we won in 2009 under the Yonis captain. So we got inspiration. Unfortunately, there was a bad incident with the Pakistan crown, which is why Pakistani Crket left. And we couldn’t regret it today. Then we won the 2017 ICC trophy. It was a great inspiration.
“Today, people are idealizing Babar Azam. The reason is that although he did not have a big influential role in the event, but it was present in it. And ICC Trophy 2017 made a big impact on the crisner Pakistan. So, unfortunately, the players in the 1990s could not win the ICC event.”
