Teofimo Lopez took to social media today to complain about Top Rank, saying that he “too expensive” for them and blaming President Todd Debouf.
Lopez claims that Duboef doesn’t “love” him and his father since 2018, which is why he doesn’t get the important matches he wants. Fans see this more as a case of Teofim (21-1, 13 KOs) failing.
He lost to George Kambosos Jr. and has struggled in many fights since moving to 140 in 2022. He’s sounding increasingly wacky with his social media rants, talking about this and that.
Teofimo says he wants his “redemption number.” This is something he has already asked for in a recent post on X.
Past performance
WBO welterweight champion Lopez, 27, wants fights against Devin Haney, Terence Crawford, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis. However, these struggles have so far been elusive. He’s not popular enough to get them, and his many lackluster performances over the past four years have contributed to that.
Lopez looked like 24k gold in the first four years of his career from 2016 to 2020, but he hasn’t been able to reach the same level since 2021. It’s clear to fans that Teofimo was fool’s gold from the start, and he was never as good as the public thought.
His narrow victory over the injured, one-armed, older and much smaller Vasily Lomachenko was a turning point in Theo’s career. It all went downhill from his fights against these guys:

The top ranking was maintained Head of Theophimus above the waterline according to how they responded to him in the last four years. If they had put him in a fight with some of the killers he whines about, he would have lost many times and would have been useless to them. It mostly is anyway. Teofimo’s comments outside the ring make him hard to like, and some fans question his sanity.
