South Korea says that the military jet was referring to bombs, injuring civilians | Military news

South Korea’s aircraft says she accidentally dropped eight bombs in the wrong place during exercise.

South Korea Air Force announced that one of his fighter jets accidentally lowered eight bombs in the wrong place during training exercise, resulting in civil injuries.

“Eight MK-82 General Bombs abnormally released from the KF-16 Air Force aircraft, which landed outside a certain ignition,” the air force said on Thursday.

The incident happened at about 10am (01:00 GMT) in Pocheon, about 25 km (16 miles) south of the strongly established border with nuclearly armed North Korea.

“We deeply regret the unintentional release of the bombs, resulting in civilian victims, and we wish they were injured in a quick recovery,” the Air Force statement said.

It said he founded a committee to respond to an accident to investigate the incident and say that he would “take all the necessary measures, including damages.”

The aviation said that the military jet “participated in the joint exercise of the living fire, with aircraft and army.”

South Korea kept living fire combined exercises on Thursday with the United States in Pocheon, said Yonhap State News Agency.

The National Fire Agency in South Korea said the bombs “assumed to have fallen to the village during the joint exercise of South Korea and the USA”.

This resulted in “victims and damage from the property, with many displaced residents,” it is said, adding that four people were seriously injured and three suffered minor injuries.

According to the statement, one church building and parts of the two houses were damaged.

Common military exercises “Freedom of the Shield” by South Korea-US, one of the greatest annual joint exercises of the Allies, should begin later this month.

Two Koreas have been technically in the war since the 1950-1953 conflict ended up in a ceasefire, not a peace contract.

US cells tens of thousands of soldiers in the south, partly to protect Seoul from Pyongyang.
