Washington Capitals The star Alex Ovechkin is in a hot pursuit of hockey history, and the star of NHL veterans has committed herself on Wednesday that will have an impact outside the sport.
Capitals announced a partnership with an Ovechkin on Wednesday, Hockey fights against cancer and a money collection foundation for a pediatric study of cancer that parallel to his search for NHL record record of career goals.

In a statement he made, Ovechkin vowed to use his platform to make a difference.

“Through my NHL career, I have met many brave children who fight cancer and feel that it is important to do everything I can to help save more lives than this awful illness,” Ovechkin said. “I want to thank the Foundation V for their hard work. I look forward to using my platform and do whatever I can to help further VIS -II Hockey in the fight against cancer.”
Ovechkin is 11 goals away from the breaking of Wayne Gretzky of 894 goals. Starting with a match on Wednesday against New York Rangers, Ovechkin will give a donation equal to his goal of his career every time he scores until the end of his career.
And his donations will be reconciled by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which he owns CAPS.

“Alexa Ovechkin Summit on Ice Size was an excitement for all hockey fans, and his dedication to financing innovative pediatric cancer research will make a life that will be a rescue influence in years to come,” said Shane Jacobson, CEO of the V fund for cancer.
“We are delighted to have Alex in our team. We look forward to celebrating his achievements and celebrate the progress in cancer research together.”

Ovechkin, 39, has 31 goals this season after stopping at 16 games in November after breaking his leg.
