WBC dictates a buffalo vs. Benavidez, ending long waiting and restoring excitement in a slight heavy division
The indisputable champion in the light heavyweight category Dmitry Bivol (24-1, 12 ko) officially ordered the WBC to defend his belt from the mandatory David Benavidez.
This move puts the buffalo in a position in which he will decide whether to face Benavidez (30-0, 24 ko) to keep his WBC belt or empty it so that he can face his former unrivaled champion Artur Beterbiev in a trilog match that Turki AlalSHIKH is reportedly interested in happening next.
Ordered: buffalo vs. Benavidez
Ring reports This WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman says the World Boxing Council “officially ordered” a buffalo to defend himself against Benavidez. If the buffalo wants to keep the belt, he must defend himself against Benavides. That’s so simple.
The buffalo could pay for the ‘Mexican monster’ Benavidez step aside. He would have to be a good piece of money to agree to let the buffal be bypassed because it makes more sense to fight. It is pointless for David to continue to wait, to release the buffalo and Beerbeiv play two squares for years.
No of their struggle was fun to watch us fans who love action. The buffalo runs around the ring, and Beterbie’s looks slow, old and tired. The two of them are boring. The best things for fans are that Benavidez fights against buffalo and end his short rule so that new blood can take over.
Fans are tired of watching Bivol and Beterbie’s fight. They want Benavidez, 28, because he earned him after winning the WBA ‘regular’ champion ‘ David Morrell February 1. Benavidez is a crunchy For the buffalo style of fighting with a way of pressing non -stop, throws fast combinations, cuts off the ring well and never pushes.
All the things that allowed the buffalo to succeed against Arthur Beterbiev would not have succeeded in Benavidez. The Bive’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, is aware of it, so he is not eager to let Benavida get the opportunity to fight him. Hearn said he wanted one of these options for Bivol’s the following fight:
- Canelo Alvarez – a rematch
- Arthur Beterbiev
- Callum Smith
It is a bigger and better fight for Benavidez. If he takes a step aside, there is a good chance that Arthur Beterbiev will beat the buffalo in his trilogy. He had already defeated Dmitry, and approached him by winning him for the second time in their rematch on February 22 last month, losing the decision on majority of 12 rounds. The judges were reached by 115-113, 116-112 for Bivol and 114-114. However, the fight looked like a draw. The judges worked Arthur.
