Grenland, Panama returns to Trump for his address to the congress


Leaders from Greenland and Panama issued messages on Wednesday, glowing by rejecting the president’s comments Donald Trump During addressing the congress in which he reiterated his ambitions to catch strategically important areas.

Trump spoke directly with Greenland on Tuesday night and said, “We strongly support your right to determine our own future, and if you decide, we welcome you in the United States of America.”

“We’ll keep you safe. We’ll make you rich. And together we’ll take Grenland to heights as you never thought it was possible before,” he added.

Trump said then that his administration “works with everyone involved to try to get it.”

“We need really for international world security. And I think we’ll get it,” he continued. “One way or the other, we’ll get it.”

Greenland’s response

Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Egeda made it clear on Wednesday that he was not even interested in American or Danish ownership.

“We don’t want to be Americans, nor are Danes, we are Kalaallit (Greenlanders). Americans and their leader have to understand it,” Egede said in a Facebook post that was translated by Reuters.

“We are not for sale and we cannot take us. We determine our future at Greenland,” he added.

Trump looks south

Trump’s comments regarding the Panaman Channel on Tuesday night were equally direct when he said, “My administration will regain the Panaman Channel.”
