COMMENT: Some might say that 2024 was not the best year for British royal familybut as we take a look at what was good and what was bad, what can we look forward to in 2025?

Prince William and Kate Middleton

As we all know, Princess Catherine had a most devastating year when it was announced that she was suffering from cancer, but good things have come from the bad and, according to a very well-placed source, Catherine has rediscovered herself as an individual and, more importantly, is now is looking forward to returning to regular royal duties with renewed vigor. However, this is not without initial problems.

That’s simply because she’s rediscovered the joys of motherhood and spending time away from the limelight, something she’s had to live with for the past 12-plus years since her marriage to Prince William. However, he himself mostly flew solo this year, and in an interview he admitted that it was a brutal year.

But the big turning point in William’s life happened just last month, and that was his meeting with the 47th president-elect, Donald J. Trump. The two attended the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, with William representing His Majesty the King, who has had limited travel due to his own health problems.

But what really turned out to be that William not only communicated incredibly well with President-elect Trump, but also received high praise, which resonated around the world. According to my sources, both William and Catherine, along with the King and Queen, have been invited to Trump’s January 20 inauguration in Washington, DC

Catherine, meanwhile, has reactivated all the charitable good deeds she started in 2023, which mostly stopped with her cancer diagnosis.

What’s really going on behind the scenes is simply this: both William and Catherine are increasingly being asked to take on more royal duties and it’s a simple fact of old age. As we all know, His Majesty the King and Queen are now in their 70s.

Unlike the previous Prince of Wales, William does not have the luxury of time, and Catherine also knows that once the inevitable happens, her life will change beyond recognition, regardless of the ages of her children, and she can only remember the very young Queen Elizabeth and how she had to dedicate her life to the crown.

Prince George

Expect to see an increasing role for young people Prince George 2025. We saw a glimpse of independence on the Christmas Walk when the 11-year-old broke away from his parents to meet the public on his own for the first time. Once again, we’ll have to focus on the fact that he too will now be fast-tracked behind the scenes into royal protocol and life.

George is more than ever, having sat in on his grandfather’s coronation in May 2023, fully aware of what the future holds and, according to a source, knows exactly what the public, the Commonwealth and the world will expect of him. But as you can see, he is already a nice, capable, virtuous young man.

Princess Charlotte

Princess Charlotte is also becoming more independent and, our source says, has been a rock to her mother, Princess Catherine, through the very difficult times and dark moments of her illness. My sources told me that Catherine is well aware that if Charlotte had not been born into a royal family, she would have simply enjoyed life inside the ballroom. Ballet is a hobby that really took time, thought and dedication in the life of the young princess.

Prince Louis

Prince Louis remains as ever: adorable, attractive, and some might suggest a wonderful distraction from all the negativity associated with the British monarchy.

Prince Andrija

Prince Andrija continues to dominate the news, but for the wrong reasons. However, unlike some of his royal relatives, he resisted the temptation to try to correct himself by writing a book. According to a well-placed source, Andrew would like to see a low-key return to royal life at some point, mostly focusing on charity and also largely out of the media spotlight.

All that remains, of course, is the thorny issue of whether he can continue to live in the Royal Lodge, which he is desperately fighting for. According to the source, he sees it as the last bastion of independence and one promised to him by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth. Others, however, might suggest that this is something of a pipe dream and that he can never return to the royal fold, no matter what he chooses to do.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

As for former royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the biggest problem is simply money!

That’s because Prince Harry and Meghan have an extravagant lifestyle with a dedicated 24/7 security team and, of course, a sprawling palace with Netflix hanging in the balance after Prince Harry’s colossal polo show disaster. Now everything depends on whether Meghan Markle can find success in her upcoming cooking show for the streaming company.

To brighten up our New Year, Meghan decided to post on her brand new Instagram profile, which she has been running secretly for two years, but now she has admitted it. Well, her new Netflix cooking show is finally here. She obviously wants to embrace everyone so we can enjoy food, gardening and friendship. You don’t see good friends like Gayle King, Oprah, or, indeed, Ellen DeGeneres, but they are so in 2024.

The bottom line is that if this doesn’t work, and it works as well as Prince Harry’s polo show, then despite writing 2025 in the sand in her second Instagram post, she might want the waves to wash over another apparent debacle.

The Sussexes hoped, after their quasi-royal trips to Nigeria and Colombia, that many other countries would be willing to book them. But with the huge fees associated with flights, security and everything that comes with ex-members of the British monarchy, so far not many countries seem to have accepted this strange and confusing offer.

I’m also told that Harry has closed the book on more revelations. Although the original deal was for four books, Harry now seems to have run out of steam and, more importantly, Penguin Random House, who paid a hefty application fee, despite all the publicity to date, has not recouped their initial outlay.

prince harryhowever, he still hopes that his original dream of moving to Africa and living a peaceful life is something he can convince his media-hungry wife that she could also benefit from. But many people realize that without the spotlight on Meghan, it’s incredibly difficult to even breathe.

King Charles and Queen Camilla

The King, despite his cancer diagnosis, plans to take on even more problems in 2025. However, the problem actually concerns Queen Camilla. An insider told me that she tires easily and, as we’ve all seen, readily picks up seemingly any virus or bug that comes around.

Perhaps at the age of 77, she may have looked more towards a quiet life, but she threw herself into the life of a busy royal family with great enthusiasm and promised His Majesty the king that she will be there with him by his side. However, many people feel that the king should actually slow down, take better care of his health and perhaps take time off, letting Catherine and William undertake some of the more demanding foreign tours.

But Charles is adamant that he is not slowing down and is relishing the opportunity to take control and direct his personal reign. However, 2025 looks just as exciting and exciting as last year, and we are honestly all truly grateful for the work, fun, glamour, and hard work that the British Royal Family brings us.
