La Liga President Javier Tebas has confirmed that he has reported Manchester City to the European Commission for alleged financial violations.
The city awaits the final verdict from Premier leagueAn investigation into their business after being charged with 115 violations of the financial regulations of the departments between 2009 and 2018.
The premier league’s ruling champions are now facing another European Commission’s investigation after Tebas, who had Many recent runs with Real Madridthe accused City violations of rules relating to state -owned companies.
“The city has a lot of companies in its group that lie outside the structure of the city football group, additional companies where costs were put in,” Tebas told the FT Business of Football Summit. “These other companies lose money, but not the club itself. We have reported Manchester City in the EU. We have facts and figures.
“We asked the city to be checked. It is very important that all clubs are subject to the same rules on transparency and management on both the sports and financial side.
“The city case is one in which we believe they have lost losses on companies that are officially not part of the city football group.”
Tebas continued: “They have a reconnaissance company, a marketing company. They have very high costs here. They invoice the city for less money. The city has less expenses than if they did not have this circle of companies around.”
City continued to deny all the allegations against them, insisting that their public financial records do not show signs of any injustice.
Richard Masters, Executive Director of the Premier League, spoke at the same event and asked for an update of an investigation into 115 charges against the City.
“The disciplinary council has heard the case and now they have to be left alone to consider their decision and have given time and space so they can do it,” Masters said.
