International Development Minister Annelies Dodds resigned on Friday to protest Sir Keira Starmer’s decision to fund an increase in the amount of £ 6 billion by reducing the budget for assistance in the UK.
“Ultimately, these cuts will remove food and health care from desperate people – deeply harmed by the UK,” she said in a letter to the Prime Minister.
Starmer said that this week an annual increase in military spending by 2027 will be completely funded by a decrease in budget for assistance of £ 15.3 billion in the amount of 0.5 percent of gross national income to 0.3 percent.
Before winning her duty last year, the Labor Party condemned the reduction of international assistance of the previous conservative government.
