University of Virginia on the edge after an ‘active striker’ trapped near the campus

The authorities on Thursday detained an “active striker” near the Campus of the University of Virginia (UVA).

The UVA security and safety department has announced an emergency warning at about 16:50 at the University Website and Social Media, warning students at the “active attacker” with a knife near Emmet Street.

Police warned the students to take priests and “run to hide the fight”.

Shortly before 5:30 pm, the authorities updated the description, noting that the suspect was a middle -aged white man in a white shirt, blue pants and white shoes.

Just before 5:50 pm, police said the incident was “stable” and the suspect was detained.

The shelter at the site was erected and the police remained at the scene.

This was ordered for the second time this week at the school campus to take refuge in place.

Classes were canceled and campus was closed on Tuesday. Fox News Digital spoke to UVA for more information.
