Shane Lowry on Majors and Ryder Cup is ‘Full Focus’ 2025 with a return to Royal Portrush, Oakmont and Augusta | Golf news

Shane Lowry has high hopes that he will add his main sum and ensure the return of Ryder Cup 2025, despite having “pure hatred” for one of the courses on this year’s list.
Lowry returned to the top 20 of the world’s 20th after a strong start of the season and has four Top 10 in the majorettes from his outdoor success in 2019, where he produced a dominant victory of six shootings over Tommy Fleetwood in Royal Portres.
The final male major of the year returns to the same Northern Ireland Course this July, Live on Sky SportsWhile the US Open returned to Oakmont for the first time since Lowry broke through the quadrangular lead during the last round of the 2016 competition
The Quail Hollow Club hosts PGA Championship, a place where Rory McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship four times and will be one of the favorites, and at the same time is Lowry’s least convinced of the challenge for the great glory.
“Three of the four main places this year I love,” Lowry said Sky Sports Golf Podcast. “I don’t even have love hate for quail, it’s just pure hatred for that! I never had a good result.
“Returning to Oakmont, it’s a course I felt like I should have won the US Open that year. But I learned a lot from it and felt like I used it in Portres. Should I give it a portrait? No, absolutely no but I feel like I might have to have two [wins].

“I didn’t come back there [Oakmont] Since 2016 and I feel like my game has changed a lot since then. It will surely be a tournament that, if I go there with a little confidence, feeling my game is okay, you never know what could happen in that week. “
Lowry’s consistency saw him after the end of the Top-25 in three major during each of the last four seasons, and the Irishman ends up at six at PGA 2024- Championship equalizing the lowest circle in the main history of the third day – Before asking for a sixth outdoors.
“I certainly don’t go to make up for the numbers!” Lowry added. “If you ask me now at this stage of my career, the reason I have put this job, given all respect for other events on PGA Tour and DP World Tour, it is all the construction of Major and Major Ryder Cup.
“I have those five dates rounded in my calendar and they are weeks in which I want to do my best. I just love the pressure of them, I love how difficult they are, and I love everything about them. I feel like and many of my good performances over the last years It was in majorettes.
“I always say that my two favorite weeks are even tournaments, they are a week before the master and the week before open, because I love upgrade and get ready for these tournaments.
“I am very lucky to have it, if I had a Claret Vrc in my house and would like to win another one [major]. If I won another one, I’m sure I’ll be greedy and want another one after that! “

Lowry looks to start a ‘good year’
Lowry is moving to Florida’s momentum, impressing AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM last month, where he ended up two strokes behind a good friend of Rory McIlroy in the PGA Tour signature event, after the last round between the couple.
“I’m not saying this in a negative way to play their own game, but I think when someone like Rory rises with their game” A “, it is impossible to win,” Lowry admitted for his treatment. “I think he was very close that day. He played an amazing golf.
“He had a ball on a leash from a teenager and just did everything right. Keeping them great paths at the right time. I think if nothing else, I was good for him in that last round, maybe playing together. Somehow I felt sometimes it did not feel like we would at the historic site at the beginning of the PGA Tour in a historic place.
“My one goal was to try, not handing over the tournament to him and to make him win the tournament. I feel like I did it somehow. It was good to see him win. I’m disappointed for myself, but I am still pleased with my weeks .
McIlroy’s victory at Pebble Beach was one of the four European winners in five weeks on PGA tour, with Lowry – who sought his own success in September and cemented his place in the European team Ryder Cup this September.
“Obviously I want to be a part of it,” Lowry said about playing in Bethpage Black, Live on Sky Sports. “I don’t just want to be on the team – I want to be part of the winning team and I want to be able to help the team.
“I think it will be one of the brilliant Ryder cup of all time and I just hope Europe will go out to the top.”
