R&B singer Roberta Flak, best known for hits, the first time I saw your face and killed me quietly with his song, died at the age of 88.
“We are heartbroken that the great Roberta Flak passed away this morning, February 24, 2025,” the statement of his representatives said.
“She died calmly surrounded by her family. Roberta broke the boundaries and records. She was also a proud educator.”

Born in North Carolina and grew up in Arlington, Virginia, the musician began as a classic pianist, first taught music.
Her career recording began after musician Les McCann, who later wrote her, sang at the Jazz Club, who later wrote that “her voice touched, touched, touched, captured and struck every emotion I had ever known.”

“I tried my whole career to tell stories through my music. This award is a confirmation to me that my peers have heard my thoughts and taken into what I tried to give.”
