Mass shelter of Migrant Hotel Roosevelt in Manhattan will close over the next few months, New York Mayor Eric Adams announced on Monday.
The converted object, which has about 1,000 rooms, processed more than 173,000 migrants Since the opening in May 2023, according to the New York Post.
“Although we did not take care of those who are our care, today marks another turning point in a demonstration of a huge progress we have achieved in turning a corner in an unprecedented international humanitarian effort,” Adams quoted the UA Video newspaper announcement on Monday.

New York City had about 69,000 migrants in his shelter in January 2024, but this number currently decreased to less than 45,000, city officials told The Post.
At one point, 4,000 migrants appeared every week who appear on Velika Apple, but that number has also decreased to 350, adding a newspaper, citing Adams.
During the last few weeks of Joe Biden’s Presidency, about 400-500 new migrants have sought help in the city each week, Post reported.

The Adams office did not immediately respond on Monday morning at the Fox News Digital comment.
