Chelsea interested in re-signing former player as Blues look to add new goalkeeper to their ranks: Reports
Chelsea are reportedly interested in re-signing former youth goalkeeper Marcin Bulka amid a market hunt for a new stopper this season. The Polish goalkeeper currently plays for Ligue 1 club Nice.
Between 2016 and 2019, Bulka played for Chelsea’s youth team before moving to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). After spending several seasons on loan at Cartagena, Châteauroux and Nice, he joined the latter club in 2022. Bulka became Nice’s number one goalkeeper last season, replacing Kasper Schmeichel. In 70 appearances for Nice in various competitions, the Pole has kept 25 clean sheets.
According to a report by journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea are interested in re-signing Marcin Bulka this summer. Phillips wrote on his Substack page:
“You would recall the November article on this site from our SPTC sources reporting Chelsea’s interest in re-signing former goalkeeper Marcin Bulka. He remains on our potential shortlist for a new goalkeeper as the club continues to monitor new stoppers.”
The Blues currently have Roberto Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen as goalkeepers in their squad. Sanchez has kept four clean sheets in 17 games this season, while Jorgensen has kept the same number of clean sheets in 11 appearances.
If they sign Bulka, the Pole may not immediately become a regular starter ahead of Sanchez and Jorgensen. However, he could serve as a good reserve and potential starter in the future.
Chelsea want to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in the summer transfer window: Reports
Chelsea are eyeing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap as one of their potential targets in the summer transfer window, according to recent reports from journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Blues are reportedly happy with their squad for now and will not sign much in January.
However, Delap has been on the radar of the Blues for some time because coach Enzo Maresca likes the player. Maresca managed Delap for a year when he was coach of Manchester City’s U-23 team (2019-20). The two won the PL2 title together. The 21-year-old has now become one of the most promising young strikers in the Premier League. He provided six goals and an assist in 18 appearances for Ipswich Town in all competitions.
Delap’s current contract with Ipswich Town expires in June 2029. The Blues are likely to qualify for UEFA Champions League football next season, the Englishman’s signing could add more depth to their attack. However, they will follow Delap’s performances in the second half of the season before moving on in the summer.
