Salman Rushdie has been threatening death for over 35 years. The British-American novelist born in India caused anger with his book “Satanic verses” in 1988. Many Muslims declared him worshiped so much so that the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Khomeini issued Fatwa against him, calling for his death. In August 2022, the author of Booker awarding was repeatedly stabbed on stage in New York, leaving it blind in one eye. His striker is now a trial for attempted murder. The book “Knife” is Rushdie’s account of what happened.
