Chelsea striker was cleaned of racially difficult harassment after calling a “stupid and white” from a police officer in 2023.
The Australian Captain of Women’s Football Sam was found guilty of raising racial abuse of the British police officer after a dispute with a taxi driver.
Kerr, who has Indian origin, called officer Stephen Lovella “Stupid and White” after police were called after a drunken dispute with a taxi driver in the early hours of January 30, 2023.
The 31-year-old, one of the world’s best attackers playing for Chelsea in the Women’s Super League (WSL), admitted that he said those words, but denied one point of racially worse harassment.
Her lawyer claimed in the southern London court that she commented on power and privilege, and Kerr gave evidence last week that she felt that the police were treated differently because of her skin color.
Kerr freed the jury on Tuesday after a trial in Kingston Crown. She showed no emotion in the dock while the verdict was rendered.
