New York Dolls David Johansen Singer has stages 4, brain tumor while daughter asks fans to help
The singer of the iconic punk group New York Dolls is secretly fighting Grade 4 cancer The last few years.
David Johansen’s wife for more than a decade, Mara Hennessey, she told Fox News Digital about his diagnosis.
“David has been living with cancer for several years. Phases. He has undergone chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and surgery, and has made all the side effects and consequences of different treatments, all with his incomparable spirit and unmatched sense of humor.

“He was nurtured by his wife and daughter’s love, as he tried to spare his friends, colleagues and fans and maintain his troubles private. He was always like that,” Hennessey said.

“She claims it’s because she’s half Norwegian,” she continued.
“David has been living with cancer for several years. Phase. He has underwent chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and surgery, and has outlined all the side effects and consequences of different treatments, all with his incomparable spirit and incomparable sense of humor.”
Hennessey explained that the financial burden had taken a toll on their family.
“Our family has reached the point where we need greater support. We spent a serious debt to care for our beloved David and face still unobtrusive costs. This attempt to be the key is not sustainable,” she concluded.
Johansen’s daughter, Leah Hennessey, went out on Instagram to share sad news on Monday.

“David is a legend, but he is also my very very sick dad,” she wrote with a picture of him on her Instagram story. “I have so much to say, but I guess I’ll publish a lot about it and now I don’t have to say everything. I know how big our situations are right now and how many funds raising literally everyone works, but if you love David or any of the magika ( sic), brought to the world, please take a minute to read this or share this.

Leah also included a relationship to Sweet music fund to help. The organization helps raise money for musicians who are struggling with health problems.
His daughter explained on the website that five years ago Johansen’s cancer progressed and he had brain tumor.

“Since then, there have been complications. He has never diagnosed publicly because he and my mother Mara are mostly very private people, but we feel forced to share it now, because of the increasing financial load that our family is facing,” the website state .

According to Leah, things turned up even worse during gratitude.

“To make matters worse, the day after gratitude, David fell down the stairs and broke his back in two places,” she wrote on the website.
Johansen has been operating since then, but Leah said, “David was in bed and incompetent. Due to the trauma, David’s disease has made exponentially and my mother takes care of him during an hour.”

Except New York dolls, Johansen is known for his alter ego, Buster Poindexter. In 1987, his song “Hot Hot Hot” was a hit at Bilbord.
