Hansi Flick admits that he is ‘not satisfied’ with the situation in Barcelona
Hansi Flick admitted he was “not happy” about Barcelona’s failure to secure registrations for Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but backed the club to find a positive solution soon.
The duo was both removed from the La Liga website after their temporary registrations expired on December 31 and Barcelona failed to raise the necessary funds to re-register the pair ahead of schedule.
League rules dictate that a player cannot be re-registered once their original contract expires, meaning Barcelona have been forced to appeal to the Spanish Football Federation and are also reportedly preparing another appearance in front of a judge.
– I don’t want to talk too much about this because it’s not my job – Flick told the media. “My job is to prepare for the match.
“I was in contact with the president at Christmas and today. I have the club’s trust that they did their job, just as I trust mine.
“To be honest, I am not satisfied with the situation. The players are not satisfied either, but we have to accept that we are professionals. I am optimistic, but we have to wait for the decision.”
Reports emerged on Friday suggesting Barcelona could have sold centre-back Eric Garcia to Girona to help them sign Olmo and Victor, but Flick dismissed the idea of the defender leaving.
“I don’t think he’s going to go away, but I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Flick said. “For us he is a good player.
“He’s had some injuries, but he’s a very intelligent player and a player we like a lot. We don’t think about that.”
Like Flick, Olmo’s agent also backed Barcelona to resolve this situation soonwith club officials allegedly confident that they will soon seal the registrations for this pair.
