Petro is looking for Colombian government chaos with demand for resignation | Government news


Petro broke his cabinet on a state TV last week, he said that the government had a weaker effect.

President Gustavo Petro encouraged by government chaos because he demanded that the whole cabinet would remain.

The President invited ministers and other senior officials on Sunday to deviate. The move followed by an increase in tension after Petro lambasted his team on live television, while some members of the Government condemned recent appointments.

“There will be some changes in the cabinet to achieve greater compliance with the program ordered by people,” Petro wrote on the Social Media Platform X.

Shortly thereafter, Labor Minister Gloria Ramirez announced her resignation on the Social Media Platform X.

“Politics must continue without sects and without ambiguity,” she said.

Tension

The tension has been built within the Government in the weeks since Petro has appointed some new ministers.

Some were protesting in the cabinet, expressing disapproval of the appointment of Laura Sarabia, Peter’s former staff chief, affected by a scandal, as an foreign minister.

Appointment last month came while Petro hired US President Donald Trump in contrast Migrants’ deportations flights.

Sarabia was involved in the corruption investigation and was also included in the case of alleged illegal eavesdropper.

The tension grew only when Petro underwent a cabinet last week with five -hour public dress live on a state TV.

He has accused several officials, including his ministers of trade, education and health of lagging behind the delivery of key projects.

‘False stories’

Immediately before the invitation of the President to give up the cabinet, Susana Muhammad stepped down as an environment minister, referring to opposition to the appointment of Armand Benedetti to the cabinet.

Several other ministers also complained about appointment, and Benedetti is facing accusations of violence against women and influence on decay.

In addition to the Minister of Working and Environment, Culture Minister Juan David Corre and Jorge Rojas, head of the DaPre State Agency, which manages large quantities of state funds, also resigned due to a current crisis.
