Dozens killed after the bus collided with a truck in Mexico
A car accident involving a bus in southern Mexico, which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, killed 41 people, the statement of the Tabasco State said in a statement, adding that recovery works are still ongoing.
The bus, which wore 48 people, collided with a truck, resulting in the death of 38 passengers and two drivers, the local authorities said, adding that the truck driver was also killed.
Reuters pictures show that the bus has completely burned after swallowing it after a collision, and only the sceling remains of a metal frame have been left.
“Only 18 skulls have been confirmed so far, but there is much more lack of more,” said sources for the safety of Tabasca provided anonymity, adding that recovery work continued.
The Tours Acosta Bus Operator said he was “deeply sorry for what happened”, in a post on Facebook, adding that he works with the authorities to find out what happened and whether the bus traveled within a speed limit.
