Hall of Fame voter says the debate about Eli Manning was one of the ‘most set’ ever among the committee
Eli Manning On Thursday night, he reached the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction, and in things, he was not particularly close.
Manning was not in the first 10 votes for this year’s class, which contains Only four players: Jared Allen, Eric Allen, Antonio Gates and Sterling Sharpe.
The New York Giants legend was a polarizing figure for the celebrity house, even before he retired. On the one hand, he was never an all-pro or got a MVP voice. On the other hand, he is responsible for the two biggest Super Bowl facilities of all time, and he is 11th in transient yards and Touchdowns all the time.

So, when the committee met, the voter of the Hall of Fame Gary Myers and the other voter based in New York made his own case, and Myers said the battles were hot.
“I am in the Committee for 15 years. In addition to the Terrell Owens conversation, which we have led for three years, this was the most settled discussion in which I was part,” Myers said on ESPN New York on Friday “Dipietro and Rothenberg.”
“I knew there would be some anti-human feelings … but I was really surprised by the amount of criticism and degrading his achievements that happened in that room.”
That criticism, Myers said, is obviously the hypocrisy of other voters.
“What did they say, that Giants’ defense They won these two super bowls, but Eli was responsible for just a record .500. Voters wanted it in both directions. They did not want to want to deserve for twice the beat of Patriots to Super Bowl and had these two -minute plants. They wanted to put it all in defense. But then they wanted to say the reason he was 117-117 was because of him, not because it was a team game, “Myers added.

“My point was, you can’t wait for the credit for Super Bowls, but put the record of the record on it. I thought it really was really wrong.”
Myers also pointed to the fact that Plaxico Burress, who caught Super Bowl Xlii winning Touchdown, shot his leg next season, while Big Blue threatened to return to the back old. They lost in a division circle that year. He also tried to claim that decisions about the front office later in Mannin’s career were not useful for the attacker at all.
“His career would look much different if he received more support from his teammates, and more importantly, his front office,” Myers drank.
Myers said he compared Manning with Warren Moon and Dan Fouts, who went 102-101 and 86-84-1, with zero performances of Super Bowla (Moon never even made a game of the title of conference) and worse counting the statistics from Manning, mostly across from Manning, the Committee, but introduced on the first ballot.
“His numbers are superior and thrown into two MVPs Super Bowla … Then what are we doing here?”

Manning will be harder to come to next season. New rules state that only five people can be selected annually. Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Jason Witten and other former stars meet the terms of next year, and all Manning will have to beat the finalists from this year, including Luke Keuchly and Adam Vinatieri.
