A member of the US military service and three defense contractors died on Thursday at the Philippines after their supervisory flight collapsed, the officials say.
The American Indo-Pacific Command said that the aircraft arranged by the Ministry of Defense collapsed in the southern province of Maguindanao del Sur and “provided intelligence, supervision and reconnaissance support at the request of our Filipin allies.”
“The incident happened during a routine mission in support of the US security activities,” the Indo-Pacific Command said in a Fox News statement.
“We cannot confirm that the survivors of the collision. There were four staff on board, including one member of the US military service and three defense contractors,” he added.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The names of those involved are staying on hold after a relative notification.
Windy Beaty, a provincial disaster mitigation officer, said Associated Presso that she had received reports that the inhabitants saw smoke coming from the plane and heard the explosion before the aircraft fell on the ground about half a mile from the fever of rural houses.
The water buffalo on Earth also died as a result of a plane crash, local officials said.
For decades, US forces have been deployed in the Philippine military camp in the south of the country to help provide tips and training by Philippine forces that fight Muslim militants, AP reported.
The region is the homeland of minority Muslims in the mainly Roman Catholic nation.
