Howe: We are wiser than two years ago
Manager Eddie Howe says Newcastle is more responsible for his last place than two years ago and thinks they are in a stronger club that will go one better.
The toon boss said: “It’s huge [to get back to Wembley]. The first appearance there was a bit unexpected, but the club we want to be we must be there regularly, so it is not a surprise.
“We are there for merit, our race was not easy this year, we faced four Premier League teams, so we made a hard yard.
“I hope we can learn from last experience and improve our performance.”

Howowe’s tactic surpasses the weapon
While enjoying smaller balls, Newcastle was controlled throughout the match at St James Park, after a Howe manager decided to switch to the back five and not to the usual four.
He did a treat, with the second Newcastle goal from the intense pressure of the defender Fabian Schara on the edge of Arsenal’s box, allowing Anthony Gordon to return home.
Howe added, “It was a great night for us. It was a difficult game, but we were tactically good. The intention was to be aggressive, and sometimes even when you do it, it doesn’t always work.
“Today it worked. I thought it helped to fix our plan. Sometimes we had to retire, but we were always in the game.
“The work [on the game plan] Started on Monday, which is fast. Last year’s Champions League helped us work on these two -day turns.
“Players followed the instructions to the letter, they deserve a loan. Fabinac [Schar] He had a long distance to cover himself in his job, following Declan Rice, whether he had low or had passed or had passed the central one.
“Sometimes he went straight across the field. He’s a good athlete and is very capable of it.”
