World Series Champion Rich Dauer Dead in 72
Rich Dauer, who was a key member Houston Astros The winning coaching staff of the world series, he died earlier this week. He was 72 years old.

Baseball Hall of Fame Backer Jim Palmer paid tribute to Dauer.
“My longtime teammate Richie Dauer passes. He was part of Oriole Way, where you didn’t have to be a star to help -win -win,” Palmer wrote on social networks. “Richie had a contagious figure that was loose us and again focused. Another reason I was so blessed that I was Oriole for life. RIP.”

Dauer served as the coach of the first astrosa base when Houston beat Los Angeles Dodgers In the 2017 World series. He underwent an emergency surgery after that season to address blood clots in the brain. MLB.com reported in 2023 that he had recently had a significant stroke.
“Baseball brought incredible people into my life. I loved him when he trained me and learned from him when he was in my staff at Houston,” said former Astros manager AJ Hunch. “Rip, my friend. And thank you for being you.”
Double MLB All-Star Alex Bregman went out on Instagram on Monday in honor of Dauer. “Rip my brother. We love you,” Bregman wrote. “You will miss you.”

Dauer assigned to open scorings in the 1979 World Series Game between Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates. Baltimore eventually suffered a 4-3 defeat, but Orioles returned to the 1983 World series and defeated Philadelphia Phillies.
Dauer was introduced to Orioles Hall of Fame in 2012. It was also part of the 2021 class for college to be a beyzbol hall of celebrities. He helped southern California to win state titles in 1973 and 1974.
