Archaeologists have recently found an ancient Roman helmet in an unusual place, Danish village.
The Veilla Museums announced the discovery of numerous ancient artifacts including Roman armorIn a press release published on January 29. The excavation was held in the city of Løning in the fall.

“The result has discovered an extremely rare find: Remaining Roman helmets.”

“The Iron Age Roman helmet are extremely rare in southern Scandinavia and there are no direct parallels with this discovery,” the officials said.

Archaeologists will now analyze deposits in which weapons are buried to determine if there is more significance for the funeral.
“The nature of these deposits suggests that the weapon was part of the ceremony or sacrificial rituals associated with the residence of the chief,” said Museums Vejle. “This indicates that the remains of a weapon workshop, military barracks or similar contexts are not.
