On August 13, 2020, White attended a job interview in Denver. After the interview, she sent Delis about how she went home on the bus.

During the exchange, prosecutors said Delisa expressed skepticism about her chances of landing, which upset her.

White then started talking to the unknown while driving a bus home, who said his name was “Scott”.

“Scott asked if he was in a relationship with a man and if he raped her,” prosecutors said. “White replied that he was, and Scott then said they had to kill him.”

White and Scott got out of the bus and spent time together, shooting Scott’s gun before walking into White’s home, where Scott met Delis as White’s brother from Texas, prosecutors said.

Delisa was then shot twice in the head and his wallet was stolen and his body was found the next day during a welfare check.

White and Scott spent the next few days together before Scott left and never saw each other again. White was later identified as a suspect and arrested and charged In Delisa’s death.

The female description of Stratton’s confession aligned with White’s crime account, prosecutors said. But he was considered incapable of judging in the case of the murder of Pueblo and was not charged in the Delis case.

“This was a tragic and pointless murder, and Ashley White carries a significant guilt for that,” said district prosecutor Brian Mason in a press release. “Her cheeky actions led to the death of the victim, and now she will pay a significant price.”
