Wounded gazans start going to Egypt through the re -open rafah crossings

Sick and wounded people left Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah border crossing on Saturday, for the first time in nine months, under the key provision of an agreement on the termination of fire between Israel and Hamas.

However, the officials of the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that only 50 out of thousands of sick and injured people who needed treatment abroad will be able to go on Saturday.

Al Qahera News, a state -owned Egyptian TV channel, an ambulance that arrived at the Egyptian side of the transition, carrying some of the sick and injured.

The crossing was closed after Israel attacked Rafah, the southernmost city in Gaza in May. The war was devastated by the health care system in Gaza, leaving hospitals still in the service that struggles to provide care.

The Israeli war in Gaza has caused immense destruction of medical institutions in the territory, including the Al-Sysh Hospital in the City of Gaza. Israeli officials accused Hamas of using numerous medical institutions for military purposes and said that Attack on al-shiffs discovered Stone and concrete tunnel shaft below the object. Hamas denied Israel’s accusations.

Before Israel took over the transition, tens of thousands of sick and wounded Palestinians and foreigners who fled the war left the passage. Rafah was also a crucial entry place for trucks carrying help in Gaza.

An addition to the fire interruption agreement between Israel and Hamas says that 50 wounded militants will be allowed to leave Gaza daily after receiving Israeli and Egyptian approvals.

According to the agreement, the number of sick and injured people exceeding Rafah will increase, the restrictions are abolished, and the movement of goods and trade will be launched again. But the conditions did not determine when such changes would take effect.

Rik Peeperkorn, the highest official of the World Health Organization for Gaza and Israeli occupied West Coast, described Saturday’s evacuation as a positive step, but said that the tempo must be increased through all possible exit routes. About 12,000 to 14,000 people require treatment outside Gaza for serious injuries and chronic diseases, he said.

Hamas monitored the Palestinian side of the border between Gaza and Egypt to Israel’s invasion of Rafah.

It’s a transition be open again With the new security arrangement between Israel, Egypt and the internationally supported Palestinian authorities, the Hamas rival, according to Israeli, Palestinian and European officials who spoke about the state of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomacy.

Israel resisted the idea that the Palestinian administration would control the post -war gauze, despite the urging of the former Biden administration in Washington. The vision of President Trump about who could rule the enclave after the conflict remains unclear.

The Benjamin Netanyahua Office, the Israeli Prime Minister, said that “the practical involvement of the Palestinian authorities” would only be “his seal on passports”. Israeli forces would remain “located around the transition” and no one would be allowed without the approval of Israeli security services.
