“The ice will not end the situation of failed immigration policy. It won’t do it,” Gainey said. “What they will do is create more situations where people feel scared. Where people don’t feel safe. Where people do things they wouldn’t do otherwise.”

“We do not want hatred, we do not want to divide, we do not want evil, we want to be sure that we are creating a city where everyone feels welcome,” Gainey said.
