At the witness booth, Marquardt insisted that his report was not a “hit piece” on Young -in that he was proud of his work.
“I didn’t want to overthrow anyone. I didn’t knock anyone down,” I didn’t knock anyone down. ” Marquardt testified.

After the trial, CNN spokesman said in a statement: “We are still proud of our journalists and 100% dedicated to a strong, fearless and fair reporting on CNN, although of course we will file.”
