Liverpool are understood to have made a move to complete the signing of the “world-class” Champions League winner, according to a new transfer claim.

The Reds continue to be linked with potential new signings, both in the January transfer window and this summer, with the Borussia Dortmund youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens supported the move to Anfield. The Englishman has seven goals and three assists to his name in the Bundesliga this season, also scoring four times in the Champions League.
Another report suggested Liverpool could sign the Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo as Mohamed Salah’s long-term replacement, after an impressive season for an in-form Cherries side.
The Reds have been mentioned as suitors for the Newcastle United striker Alexander Isakalso, with the Swede arguably Europe’s most impressive centre-forward in current form. It would be a bold signing, but the Magpies would surely only sell him for an incredibly high sum of money.
As for potential exits in the near future, Ibrahim Konata has been worryingly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but Liverpool will be desperate to keep hold of the Frenchman, given he could be seen as the future of their defense when Virgil van Dijk’s best days are behind him.

According to Caught in the hinterland, Liverpool and FSG have “made a move” for Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmichwith the German available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer and has yet to sign an extension with the Bundesliga giants, and the Reds are “among the many top clubs who have expressed an interest in him”.
Kimmich is an outstanding footballer who has enjoyed such an impressive career, winning the Champions League and eight league titles with Bayern, so the idea of him in a Liverpool shirt is exciting.
Julian Nagelsmann has called the German international community “world class” in the past, while Jose Mourinho had high praise for him back in 2020, saying:
“I think he looks very intelligent about football to me, very intelligent, he understands the moments of the game and he understands the difference between the positions and he understands what he has to do here and what he has to do there. I think he’s a phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal player.”
However, for all Kimmich’s brilliance, he turns 30 next month, so Liverpool would bring the player to big salaries the peak of which could pass relatively quickly.
Not only that, the Reds already have plenty of options in midfield, and if Arne Slott looking to add a fresh face to that area of the pitch, it might make more sense to bring in a younger alternative whose best years are yet to come.

Very few Liverpool fans would complain if Kimmich came on a free, either because of his vast experience or his superior quality in midfield, but it would probably be a surprise move for Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes.
