These 9 Influential Podcasts Helped Swing the Election for Trump: The Report
Right-wing podcasters and influencers were instrumental in turning the presidential election Donald Trumpaccording to a new report.
“Over the past two years, a collection of massively popular podcasters and streamers has cemented itself as a new mainstream source of information for millions of young people, and, according to a new Bloomberg analysis, has used its position to rally these voters in support of Trump and the political right,” Bloomberg wrote in Wednesday’s article.
All of the podcasters and influencers analyzed by Bloomberg were male and had large, mostly male audiences. The nine podcasters and group of influencers listed were Adin Ross, Andrew Schulz, The Nelk Boys, Logan Paul, Joe Rogan, Lex Friedman, Patrick Bet-David, Shawn Ryan and Theo Von.

Bloomberg summed up the political worldview of these podcasters as presenting America as a country “destabilized huge inflation” and “migrants pouring across the border and at the beginning of the third world war.”
“The same messages were conveyed in Trump’s inaugural address on Monday,” Bloomberg wrote. “Now that Trump is back in office, broadcasters are well-positioned to help build support for his policy agenda, turning grievances into policies that could have long-lasting effects even after Trump’s term in office.”
“None of the broadcasters are posing as political analysts, and their conservative talking points were sandwiched between freewheeling discussions of sports, masculinity, internet culture, gambling and jokes – making the rhetoric more palatable to an apolitical audience,” the article continued.

According to research on changing media preferences country, Edison Research found that “close to 50% of people over the age of 12 listen to a podcast monthly,” Bloomberg revealed.
In one particularly notable example in the 2024 cycle, Rogan’s interview with Trump in the final weeks of the campaign attracted over 50 million views on YouTube.
After the election, Bloomberg wrote that influencers “continued to make videos on the same topics – with an increasing shift away from platforms to content that was previously against the rules. Meanwhile, Rogan, Nelk Boys, Von, Fridman and Bet-David floated from event to event during the inauguration and the previous weekend.”
Their influence, especially among young men, has only grown in political arena. Bloomberg wrote that Trump’s political rhetoric matches well with the most popular podcasters in the world.
“Trump’s personality and history are compatible with the program’s messages about masculinity,” Alice Marwick, director of research at the Institute for Data and Society Research, told Bloomberg.
“It’s like, don’t be ashamed of your low male desires,” she added. “Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty, don’t let anyone bring you down. You should be proud and strong, and you should also go after people who criticize you.”
