There have been problems all over the pitch for the Gunners, but in attack most of the frustrations have been there, and although he has shown glimpses of quality this year, Gabriel Martinelli continues insufficiently.
It’s been almost two years since we saw the lively Brazilian at his dangerous best and now the club may be losing patience with him too, with recent reports touting the Premier League star as his potential replacement with a move to the Emirates.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a player who will change the game of the Premier League
According to a a recent report from Caught OffsideArsenal are interested in Bournemouth star Antoine Semeny, who they have identified as the best alternative to the injured Bukayo Saka.

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big name failures. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across the Football FanCast.
However, they are not the only team interested in the Ghanaian international, as the report revealed that second-tier Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are monitoring the situation.
On top of the potential competition, the Gunners will also have to pay a hefty fee, as according to the report, the Cherries are reluctant to sell their star, who is valued at around £50m.
Getting over the line could be complicated and expensive, but given Semeny’s ability and potential, it’s worth pursuing.
Moreover, while he could be seen as a fill-in player for the injured Saka, he could also be a long-term upgrade for Martinelli.
How Semenyo compares to Martinelli
Okay, so the first thing to point out is that, yes, in the near term, Semenyo would be an excellent replacement for the injured Saka, as after Jesus’ injury against United, the only somewhat natural option Arteta has in that side is Ethan Nwaneri.
However, due to its impressive versatility combined with the fact that it is one of the few genuine two-legged players in the Premier Leaguethe Bournemouth ace’s long-term role at Arsenal would probably be on the left, as we don’t know if there is a player in world football the manager would start instead of the good Saka on the right.
So how does the 25-year-old dynamo deal with Martinelli, who would likely be his main competition for playing time on that side of the front line?

Well, from a clean score perspective, it’s a clean win for the “unplayed” winger, like dubbed by football journalist Ed Aaronssince he scored in only 23 appearances with a total of 1908 minutes this season seven goals and four assistswhich averages out to a goal every 2.09 games, or every 173.45 minutes.
In contrast, former Ituano gem scored seven goals and three assists in 31 appearances, a total of 2161 minutes, which means that on average he scored every 3.1 games, or every 216.1 minutes.
Moreover, on top of being able to produce impressive levels of performance for a team outside the traditional ‘big six’, the “all-round striker” as he is called analyst Ben Mattinsonhe is also a big-play man, scoring against Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest and providing assists at home and away against Newcastle United this season.
Ultimately, while he may not be the biggest name in the world, Semenyo has established himself as one of the most exciting and effective strikers in the Premier League this year. So Arsenal should do everything they can to bring him in this month, even if it could be bad news for Martinelli’s long-term future at the club.
