(Reuters) – The Trump administration plans to boost deportation efforts by giving federal agents in all agencies powers similar to those of immigration officials, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing an internal memo.
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Benjamin Huffman has outlined plans to expand immigration enforcement powers to Justice Department agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives and the US Marshals Service, according to a memo cited in the report.
