Barcelona joined the giants of the Premier League in the pursuit of Dusan Vlahović
Barcelona is the last team connected with Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović as the Serie A side prepare to make a big decision on his future.
Juventus forked out a cool £66.6m to sign Vlahovic in 2022 and watched him score 53 goals in 126 appearances in all competitions, including seven goals in Serie A this season.
A puzzle for Juventus regarding Vlahović’s contract. He has entered the final 18 months of his contract and reports suggest the Italian giants are increasingly fearful of losing him on a free transfer, with talk of a new contract making no headway.
If he does not renew his contract by the end of the season, he is expected to be sold and SPORT state Barcelona they plan to join the battle for his signature.
Barcelona officials have long admired Vlahovic and now, doubting the longevity of 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski, are exploring a possible summer transfer that could represent a bargain if he allows his contract to expire.
Chelsea was recently named as a suitorwhile Arsenal are long-time fans and it is the Gunners who are seen as Barcelona’s biggest threat in this report. Arsenal are reportedly considering a January deal, which could be possible once Juventus completes a loan deal for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
Along with Vlahovic, Barcelona have a strong interest in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, but admit that the huge competition for the Swede’s signature is likely to prove too much for them.
