Prince William, Kate Middleton ‘will keep distance’ from Meghan Markle: expert
Prince William and Kate Middleton hit the road as Meghan Markle continues to make headlines in posh Montecito.
British royal expert Hilary Fordwich claimed to Fox News Digital that the Prince and Princess of Wales are putting their duties first as the Duchess of Sussex prepares to launch her lifestyle series in March.
“Prince William and Catherine are known to be happy to keep their distance from Meghan Markle, thereby avoiding any potential involvement in future controversies,” Fordwich explained. “Stability and service are paramount to the couple as they expect their lives to be devoted to both. There is nothing to support either of those values in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix deal.”

Fordwich’s comments came shortly after Palace insiders claimed British Daily Mail that Meghan’s decision to postpone her series was a “final blow” to Queen Elizabeth II.
They claimed the 43-year-old “didn’t think twice” about delaying the launch of “Love, Meghan” due to the Los Angeles fire. Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex allowed their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey to air in 2021 because Prince Philip was ill. Harry’s grandfather died four weeks later.
“Prince William and Catherine are known to be happy to keep their distance from Meghan Markle, thereby avoiding any potential involvement in future controversies. Stability and service are paramount for the couple as they expect their lives to be devoted to both. There is nothing advancing either of those values in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Netflix.”
While Fordwich called the Sussexes “a huge responsibility” for “what the monarchy stands for”, other experts felt Meghan’s decision to postpone her series was justified.
“What complete nonsense – and just another indication of how the British tabloids are grasping at straws to crucify Meghan and Harry,” Christopher Andersen, author of “King,” he told Fox News Digital about the Daily Mail report.
“There may be many things to criticize the Sussexes about, but this is not one of them,” he said. “Trying to compare the Oprah interview, over which the Sussexes had no control, to their decision to postpone Meghan’s lifestyle show due to fires in LA draws an extremely false equivalence. Prince Philip was frequently hospitalized during the last years of his life; at the age of 99, going in and out of the hospital has become quite routine.”
“Giving lifestyle and cooking advice while thousands of their neighbors’ houses were burning to the ground would not go over well, to say the least,” Andersen noted. “Delaying their new Netflix series was not only the right decision, it was the only decision Meghan could have made.”

However, Fordwich claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are choosing not to give oxygen to Meghan’s latest project. Instead, she will focus on raising her three young children and supporting King Charles III, who is still seeking treatment for an undetected form of cancer.
“For the royal family, this further reinforces Prince William’s instincts keep your distance from the couple,” Fordwich argued.
William’s relationship with his younger brother is believed to be non-existent.
Kinsey Schofield, host of the “To Di For Daily” podcast, told Fox News Digital that the streaming giant, not the Duchess, chose to hit the pause button on her series. “Love, Meghan” was originally scheduled with the premiere on January 15.
“My sources are telling me that it was Netflix that was eager to delay Meghan’s show to avoid harsh criticism,” she said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they used the entire month and a half … to make some much-needed changes to the final product.”

“The royal family realized a long time ago that Meghan doesn’t want anyone but herself,” Schofield claims. “They set boundaries to protect their emotional well-being long before Megxit. Meghan constantly prioritizes herself at their expense and the only solution is to keep her at a distance. It’s not about cruelty, it’s about recognizing that the relationship is toxic and one-sided.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020 and moved to California. They have since made headlines for voicing their grievances.
After describing their problems with royal life to Winfrey, in late 2022 they presented their controversial Netflix docu-series, “Harry & Meghan.” Then, at the beginning of 2023. Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” was published.
Each launch highlighted new claims about their time in the royal family.
“With love, Meghan,” he promises to take a different approach. It will show the mother-of-two’s love of cooking and gardening alongside her famous friends. However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital that the royal family “has not forgotten” the couple’s past stories.
“The decision to delay was made by Netflix,” Fitzwilliams claims. “Showing it at this point… was simply impossible. She had no choice but to ask for it to be postponed. The reaction on the Internet to it was so negative that there is always a chance that it will be postponed again… It’s weak and contrived.”
“… When it comes to timing, the royal family will not forget the embarrassing fact that the Oprah interview took place while Prince Philip was in hospital,” he claimed. “The couple didn’t know this when it was originally planned, but it went ahead anyway… This was an extremely callous and shameful episode. The Royal Family has not forgotten. The Royal Family clearly have other concerns [today].”
“Their vile moment of the Oprah interview, which caused Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip indescribable anguish, was completely and utterly inexcusable,” Fordwich claimed.

Andersen previously told Fox News Digital that Kate and Meghan were “never close.” After the departure of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the princess of wales she kept aloof while serving the crown.
“From the very beginning, Kate and Meghan were hardly what I would call a love affair,” Andersen explained. “Even before they had their famous, tearful row over the flower girl’s dresses at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, the relationship between the two princesses was frosty.
“After Megxit, Kate did what she could to reunite brothers Prince Harry and Prince William, but that proved impossible after the Sussexes let the royal family go during an interview with Oprah and then in Harry’s memoir ‘Spare.’
“Kate threw up her hands and basically walked away, leaving it up to William and Harry to decide when – or even if – they would fix things,” Andersen continued. “All this time Meghan was above the fray, continuing his projects in California and showing little interest in mending relations with his royal in-laws.”
Andersen also claimed that the Sussexes “have no intention of apologizing for anything.”
“Zero,” he emphasized. “They still firmly believe that injustice is a party to this royal saga. And while Kate may be able to bury the hatchet and move on, King Charles… and Prince William are in no mood for forgiveness. Things have gone too far. The wounds are simply too deep .”

Earlier this month, Kate announced that she was in “remission” from cancer and was focused on her future.
“It’s a relief to be in remission now and I’m staying focused on my recovery,” she wrote. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. However, I look forward to a busy year ahead. There is much to look forward to.”
