Trump signed an order delaying the ban on TikTok for 75 days

President Trump decided to delay the ban on TikTok for 75 days by executive order on Monday, one of his first moves in the new administration.

Trump signed the order from the Oval Office hours after being inaugurated for his second term. The move comes days after the Supreme Court upheld the ban.

The order also came days after TikTok was briefly blacked out for US users and after Trump signaled that he was interested in keeping the app available, even if it is not fully owned by the US company.

In his executive order, Trump wrote that he has “sole constitutional responsibility for the national security of the United States, the conduct of foreign policy, and other vital executive functions.”
