West Ham show ‘direct’ door to 2024 arrival as Saudi club make first contact
WITH Graham Potter wanting to mark his own stamp on his new side, West Ham United have reportedly already shown a summer signing the door amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
West Ham transfer news
Potter has felt the full extent of the task ahead of him in recent games, with two defeats either side and a win over London rivals Fulham marking an inconsistent start. However, with the transfer window open, he was given an immediate opportunity to sign much-needed reinforcements and finally turn West Ham’s season around.

In this regard, names such as Angel Gomes have already been mentioned. The Lille midfielder has appeared on the Hammers’ radar and could turn into a bargain with his current deal set to expire this summer. Player unfinished business in Premier League after swapping Manchester United for France not too long ago, Gomes could return to haunt his former club West Ham.
On the other hand, one player could be heading for a swift exit this month as West Ham look to right the wrongs made under Julen Lopetegui last summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Potter and West Ham mercilessly showed Luis Guilherme the door due to the interest of Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia, who have already been contacted about a potential deal.
Arrival in summer for registration 25.5 million poundsGuilherme has struggled to adapt to life at the London Stadium and could now leave months after joining from Palmeiras on a five-year deal.
“Direct” Guilherme could haunt West Ham
After being relegated in the summer, West Ham seem to have already lost faith in what was always meant to be a long-term investment. Still only 18, it was unlikely that the Brazilian would ever be an impact player in the current squad, and the Hammers needed the patience they had so far lacked. He might leave now and one day come back to haunt them in a frustrating way.
The winger earned a lot of praise this summer, including from a South American soccer expert Nathan Joyeswho described Guilherme as “strong” and “direct” in the build-up to his summer move to West Ham.
Whether Al-Hilal or another club will take full advantage of West Ham’s lack of patience remains to be seen, but Guilherme is certainly one to watch. Meanwhile, the Hammers must hope to prove themselves right if the winger leaves this month.
