Antony is closing in on an exit from Man Utd following a breakthrough in negotiations
Real Betis are close to completing a deal to sign Manchester United winger Antony loan for the rest of the season, reports reveal.
The Spanish side have identified Antony as their top target for the winter window and, after seeing an initial approach rebuffed, returned with another offer earlier this week which is said to be closer to satisfying United.
According to Fabrizio Romanotalks are now at an advanced stage, and Antony is expected to spend the rest of the season on loan at Betis. The Brazilian is thought to be keen to revive his career in La Liga and has favored Betis’ interest over competition from the Greek Olympiakos.
United will agree to cover a portion of Antony’s wages in a deal that will not include the option of a permanent move at the end of the season.
Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo was questioned about the club’s pursuit of Antony on Saturday and, while he declined to go into detail, he did not hesitate to confirm his desire to make a deal across the board.
“A very attractive player in this market,” Fajardo said Movistar+. “I don’t have much to say about his career. Antony is still a Manchester United player.”
