Dow, S&P 500 mark best week since November as markets cheer inflation data


The stock market ended its best week since early November as Wall Street breathed a sigh of relief after the latest inflation data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 334 points or 0.8 percent. The S&P 500 rose 1%. The Nasdaq Composite ended 1.5% higher. The S&P and Dow had their best weeks since November 8.

Bond yields rose slightly on Friday, but the yield on the 2-year Treasury note was still lower on the week at 4.27%. The 10-year yield fell to 4.61% this week. This week the 30-year yield fell to 4.84.
