Everton Women 1 – 1 Aston Villa Women

Veatrika Sarri’s late equalizer earned Everton a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in their Women’s Super League clash at Walton Hall Park.

Villa, still in search of a permanent manager with Shaun Goater still taking over on an interim basis, took the lead in the 31st minute.

Full-back Noelle Maritz sent a deep cross from the right, which Rachel Daly met and headed past home goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan into the bottom corner.

However, Everton leveled in dramatic fashion in the 89th minute when Sarri latched on to a loose ball on the edge of the penalty area before drilling it into the bottom right corner.

The draw leaves both sides with 10 points from 11 WSL games.
