Sheffield United are now stepping up their pursuit of the “top” midfielder, and according to the report, an official offer will be submitted soon.

Chris Wilder clearly feels that some new attacking reinforcements are needed if his side are to go all the way and seal promotion from the Priority this season, and the Blades are now in a good position to win the race for two strikers.
A fee of £13 million has now been paid agreed with Leicester City to sign Tom Cannonwhich means that only personal terms need to be agreed to make the deal.
If Wilder wants to bring in more than one new striker this month, he is also in a good position to win the race for Southampton Ben Brereton Diazas the Chilean international would only consider a return to United, despite interest from other parties.

Not only are Sheffield United looking to bring in a new striker, they are also interested in bringing in a new attacking midfielder this month, and now there have been new updates on their pursuit of Besiktas’ Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
According to Turkish media reports (via Sport Witness ), the Blades now have increased their interest in Oxlade-Chamberlainwith Besiktas trying to offload him this month, considering him surplus to requirements.
The Championship promotion hopefuls are expected to make a formal offer for the attacking midfielder soon, with a view to taking him on loan until the end of the season, although it is unclear if they plan to make it a permanent deal in the summer.
However, there could be competition for the 31-year-old’s signature, with French side Nantes also said to be interested.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has proven himself at the top level
Although his career at Liverpool was marred by injuries, the midfielder scored a memorable goal for the Reds against Manchester City in the Champions League in 2018, one of nine in the top European competition.
The Portsmouth-born maestro is a well-rounded midfielder, who has also won praise from football writer Leanne Prescott for his defensive abilities during his time on Merseyside.
The only concern about signing Oxlade-Chamberlain is the fact that his best days are probably behind him, having failed to make an impact at Besiktas this season, playing a total of just 113 minutes in the Turkish Super League.
That said, the former Champions League winner with Liverpool may still be able to do the job at Championship level, and signing him on loan, rather than permanently, would make it a relatively low-risk move for the Blades.
