Cole Anthony gives romantic explanation of how he found his mojo again: “He started to feel her back”

Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony has recently had a revival in his performance. Against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, Anthony led the team with 27 points on 64.7 percent shooting, leading the Magic to a 104-99 victory. After the win, the guard talked about how he got his mojo back.

The magic was marred by injuries in the 2024-25 NBA season. The Wagner brothers are out and Mo is listed as out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. The team also has six players on the injury report as game-time decisions ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

With injured players piling up in the doctor’s room all year, the return of anyone from the team would be a blessing in disguise. Fortunately for Orlando, Anthony has stepped up in the last few games.

After their win against the Sixers, Anthony has a romantic explanation for finding his groove again.

“I’m just happy to see that ball go off the rim a couple of times, that was good,” Anthony said. “Me and the old girl had a bit of a fight lately. I’m glad we solved the problem and got over our differences and got back to the loving and caring relationship we have.

“You see, with women sometimes you have to talk nice to them. I didn’t talk nice enough to Mrs. Wilson. I started trying to be nicer to her and she started reciprocating my feelings.”

Cole Anthony was the starter in the last five games, while Jalen Suggs solved the lingering problem. During that span, the top guard averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists on 45.5 percent shooting from the field.

How has Cole Anthony performed for the Magic this season?

Cole Anthony has struggled to help the Magic this season. Although he is a direct collaborator of the team off the bench, he did not achieve good results this year. He played 38 games averaging 7.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 40 percent from the field.

He has struggled to be a consistent scorer since the season began, as he is also shooting just 30 percent from deep. Anthony’s 3-point shooting is a far cry from his 33 percent shooting last season.

His best game came on December 21st in a 121-114 win against the Orlando Magic.

The point guard came off the bench and had 35 points, eight rebounds and nine assists while shooting 52 percent from the field.
