Waqar Salamkheil dismantles Alex Hales with a stunning performance
Bowling the first ball of his spell, Salamkheil produced a mesmerizing leg which was nothing short of a bowling master class. The delivery landed on a good length just off the off stump, catching the surface precisely and whizzing through the air. Hales, who was hitting fluently, completely misjudged the trajectory and spin. Expecting less spin, he left a large gap between his bat and the pad, creating an inviting path for the ball. With a sharp departure from the pitch, the ball went through the opening, clipped the top of the middle putter and sent it spinning. The sheer artistry of the delivery left Hales visibly stunned and highlighted Waqar’s ability to fool even the most accomplished batsmen with his guile and control.
This dismissal broke Vipers’ strong opening score of 62 runs and gave Emirates a crucial breakthrough. Hales’ quickfire 34 off 22 balls, including six boundaries, was key to Vipers’ aggressive start, but it was Waqar’s brilliance that saw him through. It was a perfect example of a bowler outsmarting the set batsman with skill and accuracy.
